Is a full length pleather trench in style or a nono?

im looking for fall/winter pieces and came across a tight fitted pleather trench in black. it zips from top to the waist only and the rest is left open to show your clothes. i wanted to pair it with a wide cinch belt and skinny jeans with black pointy toed high heel boots. would this be too much or what? im short to 5'2" and the trench is 48 inches long top to bottom
