I would like to reinvent myself..?

So, here's the story. For a couple years, I have maintained one of those indie stereotypes and I'm sick of it. I want to be more outgoing, one of those girls who are tan and confident and doesn't care what people think. I also want to change my style. See, I used to shop at Hot Topic. Please. Like I want to do THAT anymore. But I seem to be interested in stores such as rue21 and Aeropostale now. I know I seem silly, asking for reinvention advice over a website, but I just figured what the hell. Thanks(:
