Do I need to paint the fibergl body/tub of my Jeep?

I have this great Jeep Scrambler, but it has been out of commission due to rust. I've finally saved up enough to buy a new fibergl tub. The tub is in white, which is the color I want anyway. Do I still need to have it painted? Is there a gloss coat I could put on it?
